Cannot send emails from my iPhone whilst abroad

I am having exactly the same issue with my iPhone but webmail works fine. I had intermittent problems with it when I was in the uk too, but now no emails are being sent. I have checked all the settings and they seem correct

TalkTalk will rate limit overseas connections because of the higher risk of spam from non UK networks. Are you seeing a TT error code of three digits prefixed by the TT letters?

Do you have access to a VPN connection where you can select an UK Host Server. Mobile device Internet Security products often bundle in a VPN to enhance mobile security when using networks other than your home broadband network. But you need to use a UK Host Server because any overseas server may also be rate limited.

Or the alternative is to use a Gmail email address simply because of the global presence of Gmail there will be a local Gmail server near to your location and that can send on your emails to a Country server for delivery.
