Cannot sync talktalk emails with outlook

I have a new desktop PC with Outlook installed. I have a talktalk web mail account and wish to sync it with outlook instead of logging onto the internet. However when I try to connect to the talktalk web mail account outlook cannot do it. Can anyone help?

What version of Outlook are you asking about? All are email client apps so not webmail but standalone software.

So you may be asking about Outlook for Windows, Outlook 2021 as part of Microsoft Office or Outlook 365 as part of Office 365 or Outlook for MAC if the desktop PC is an Apple MAC.

It does not help that Microsoft use the "Outlook" brand for so many different things. I use a version called:

"Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2312 Build 16.0.17126.20132) 64-bit"

If you are using a version with a similar name, I could possibly explain how to make it work with TalkTalk.
