Have to say I'm hating this new email inbox design, where every message seems to contain about an inch of narrative. Is there a quick fix where I can simply revert to the old style 'one line' narrative which was quite satisfactory ?

To reduce the number of lines for each message untick 'Show text preview' in the Mail settings options to see more messages in the List view. Here's how:

Select the Main settings menu cog icon  top right on the blue header (desktop browser)

Select All settings

Select Mail, expand the Reading section and scroll down to Message list

Untick Show text preview

Mobile browser? - select the triple line menu icon first then the cog icon for Settings

Select Mail and then the Reading panel

Untick Show text preview

If using a tablet then use the triple dots browser settings menu to set the browser display to Desktop site mode.

Does that help?
