Bank accounts usually have a lot of security protection so if your bank account has been compromised your computer may have downloaded remote access software and therefore your email account may also be compromised.

You should report the security issue to the Bank and to Action Fraud UK and you need to scan your devices for malware, viruses, trojans and uninstall any remote access software.

Your TalkTalk mailbox needs to be checked to ensure there are no Rules including auto forwarding in play and that in the Security section there are no unrecognised devices connected to your mailbox. Then upgrade the password.

Compromised or spoofed accounts

Let us know if you need further specific advice.
