all settings are correct, IMAP with outgoing smtp 587 although it took a long time for the system to accept these last details.

My TT and Mozilla Thunderbird email settings recently changed completely, I was also due to update my PC from Windows 10 to 11. I have finally got my email address up and working but have lost all my emails from around 2016/18 to today (depending on which folder they were save in) but also I cannot send emails as I keep getting the message that Outgoing Server has timed out. I had help from a TT help desk but not fixed it.

I am using TT webmail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Windows 11 and SMTP smtp.talktalk.net Port 587. This keeps trying to change to something like 465 but still doesn't work! Should it be SMTP. smtp.mail.talktalk.net?

Help please?

Hi 1Gavin,

Could you first of all take a look at the email settings in the following help article and confirm everything is set up OK - Email settings | SMTP, IMAP & POP3 | TalkTalk Help & Support
