Hi,

I have done some test email sending attachments JPEG, PNG and Word files from my PC to my android phone.

When it hits my phone using either data or Wi-Fi it is a winmail.dat file for the name of all attachments on my phone.

Yet when I send the same attachments from my work email account (.org) using the same PC I can then open the attachments on my phone as normal.

Both times i can open the attachment on my PC with no issues when sent to my TT account.

PC e mail clients are TT = Outlook classic and my work client is Outlook new

My phone e mail client is Samsung e mail

What's is happening as i have not altered any setting on the two clients on the PC or my phone?

Thanks

Found this answer on the Microsoft forum. Hope it helps.

There are other suggestions if you search winmail.dat.

"winmail.dat" file instead of the attached file could be your outlook Settings you'll need to make some adjustments to
In your File options - Mail look for the compose Messages make sure the format is HTML
Then message format lower down make sure the when sending messages to internet recipients it is set to Convert to HTML format. Say OK
Close out of Outlook and open it back up Send yourself a PDF or Picture and check the attachment.
