I've been struggling to receive verification codes / emails from some companies and so cannot log into these sites.

I've checked spam and trash and as far as I can see there is no facility to add a safe address.

Is there any issues with talk talk mail at the moment ?

Just the same for me all day yesterday. OTP (one time password) which I had been receiving from the educational establishment where I am a distance learner, no longer reaching my mailbox. Not getting to Junk or Spam. One valuable day of essay prep for next Monday's deadline completely lost.
Come on, TalkTalk, get yourself a postmaster who actually understands how to configure mail servers, use DMARC and DKIM records, allows academic (.ac.uk) domains to send legitimate messages to people requesting them. In fact stop start delivering a service!
