Email bouncing / vanishing

Like other people, I am experiencing problems with some emails not arriving or being bounced.

The earliest problem I am aware of was on Thursday evening when an email from a gmail address never arrived.

On Saturday two other people contacted me to say that emails had bounced. One was from a private domain, the other was from an ntlworld address.

Other emails have arrived almost instantly. But I have no way of telling which are missing.

This is maddening!

An update: I had contacted someone who I was expecting an email from. I just had a message saying bounced back to the sender 24 hours after sending, saying delivery was incomplete and gmail would retry for 47 more hours: "The MX host does not match any MX allowed by the STS policy".
