I have recently received E mails from Talk Talk indicating I need to upgrade my E mail settings and threatening to delete my mail box from the data base. Are they genuine ? Also I now have to confirm my T T password each time I send an E mail.

Hi,

It's a scam, but you should be being asked for your password each time unless a setting has been changed.

If you hover over the senders details it's also unlikely to be a TalkTalk email address.

Whatever you do, do not click on any links.

TalkTalk have requested that spam mail be reported to them.
How to do this can be found here
https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/Phishing-emails-amp-everything-you-need-to-know/ta-p/300225

Regarding your password issue, what programme do you use to access your emails? Have you by any chance clicked on a link in the emails?

Check your account settings within the programme and see if your password is included and if there is anywhere within it to save this. This then should remove the need to keep inputting it.
Thank you.

Hi TomJenks, it would be advisable to reset your mailbox password.
