Hi Debbie, unfortunately if the hacker has forwarded the email to another mailbox they're gone. TalkTalk don't backup email or contact lists. I would run AntiVirus and Malware checks on all your internet connected devices and then reset the mailbox password.

So sorry to see this, but please don't exacerbate the issue by posting your email address on a public forum!

You have done the right thing in changing your password. The support team here will advise on the other points you raised.

Hi,

I've removed your email address from open view as it's not advisable to publicly show.

Please could you put the affected email address in your private notes field in your profile where only you and support staff can view this.

If you haven't already done so I'd suggest you do a virus scan of the device where you clicked the link.

You might also contact any people you are aware of who were in your address book to look out for scam emails as it's highly likely they too will receive them.

Unfortunately I'm not sure it will be possible to retrieve your contact list, but I will leave support staff to advise on this.

And is that requirement enforced by TalkTalk?

Bill

Hi,
Please start your own thread as each case is considered unique and it is easier for support to be given to one person per thread and also less confusing.
To start your thread click the Browse button, then Help With Your Service and select the appropriate category. You will then see a Blue Button "Start A Topic"
Please also note that you should only post back on that thread and not start another on the same topic as multiple posts cause delay to you and others seeking help.
Thank you
