Yes this is an odd thing. The restriction seems to remain in place in My Account, yet on 19/02/25 I received an e-mail informing me that an updated TalkTalk mail service would be functional from 25/02/25, this including the new Mailbox Manager for adding and removing accounts. I went to My Account this morning and found the message as shown in your reply to still be in place. I then used the link in the e-mail which took me straight to Mailbox Manager where my two existing accounts appeared exactly as they should. I then added the third account apparently without problems, except that neither my PC e-mail package nor my phone appears able to connect to it.

DTRMC

New E-mail Not Working

For weeks now I have been wanting to create an additional e-mail address and have been forced to wait while TalkTalk had their system disabled for "back end maintenance". I recently received the notification that the system was at last active again. This morning I created the new e-mail address and it doesn't work! I have tried connecting via my Android mobile and it refuses to connect. I have tried via my Windows PC running Windows Live Mail (which is accessing my other two TalkTalk e-mail accounts perfectly happily) and it keeps rejecting the password. On the PC I have tried using TalkTalk's recommended settings and the settings I have actually found that work on my other two accounts - neither set up has proved successful. It is becoming increasingly important that I get this account active and TalkTalk appear to be doing everything they can to be as inefficient as possible. Does anyone, preferably from TalkTalk but all advice gratefully accepted, have anything to suggest?

DTRMC

I wasn't aware that the restriction on creating new mailboxes had been lifted, I still get this message on My Account:

.

When and how did you receive the notification you mention?

It seems the email advising of the changes went out and then the changes couldn't be completed so you've got a crossover. I've no idea when the change will complete.

Many thanks for your message but this is totally unacceptable. TalkTalk are a large communications and technology company and they are proving incapable of managing what should be one of their core services. Worse still they are sending out inaccurate information about the situation and their own staff are openly stating they have no idea what is going on. A fairly shocking state of affairs all in all.

DTRMC

You have the option to make a complaint. You'll find the details for making a compaint at the bottom of each TalkTalk webpage.
