Spam folder

Talktalk has suddenly started putting e-mails in a spam folder and not sending them to my PC. I use my own e-mail browser, so am not aware that wanted e-mails have not reached me. How can I stop talktalk doing this so that I can make my own spam decisions?

I use Mozilla Thunderbird but the e-mails never reach it because they are spammed on the talktalk webmail server.

Also please advise if it is all your incoming emails that are going into the spam folder or is it emails from a specific email address?

Only some. Many of the spammed e-mails are spam, but some are legitimate. I do not use webmail so have no way of knowing that this has happened. I want to decide for myself.

I only found out what was happening when I happened to login to webmail. I don't normally use it.

Alright, thank you for letting me know. you can try the below and see if there might be a rule applied to your mail.

Please click the gear icon in the top right corner and select "All settings" from the dropdown menu. Next, click the arrow next to Mail in the menu on the left. Then click "Filter Rules". You'll find all of your filter rules listed here and you can edit them.

There doesn't seem to be a "Filter Rules" option under Mail settings. There is a "Rules" option, but it is nothing to do with spam filters.

Okay thanks for letting me know, what do you see when you click on the rules option.

Alternatively, something else that could work, since you stated that it's only some of the valid emails that are going into spam, it might be worth adding these emails to your safe senders list, this can help you have more control over which emails you want to be sent to your inbox and spam.

To do this, Open the mail click the 3 dots and you'll see a drop-down menu at the bottom add sender to allow list.

Yes, @nambuso-TT did mean 'Rules' under webmail Settings, and not 'Filter Rules'. Click 'Rules' and see if there are any rules already setup.

If there aren't, that's OK. There aren't any rules there, diverting emails to Spam folder.

Do you have ANY email rules, set in either TalkTalk webmail, or Thunderbird?

It says "There is no rule defined". I can add a new rule, set a Vacation Notice or Auto Forward.

I haven't set up any rules in TalkTalk webmail. I never use it.

I can only do that after I have identified that Webmail is spamming them. I need Webmail to STOP SCAMMING MY E-MAILS. I need to be able to download them all into Thunderbird and deal with them there.
