Hacking of ukgateway email address

My ukgateway email was hacked and all my attempts to be reconnected to the address via talktalk have failed. Any suggestions? I am worried as I have no knowledge of what is going on in the address.

What have you already tried?

If you have set up recovery details in the email account, i.e. an alternative email address or a mobile number, then you can reset the password via the 'Forgot your password?' link:
