got a message saying I had changed my email password when I had not done that...also recent suspicion that someonw has accessed my email.Tried to get to change at talktalk on line but it keeps tellimg me that the system is down...being doing that for a few days...anu advice as to how I report this and ghet my password changed

How are you trying to access?

If you are trying My Account this is no longer the place to go to change your password. You need mailbox manager.

Not sure if this is also affected by current system issues though.

anks but when Itry to change my password on ytour link it asks me to input my present password...my problem is that i got a message saying my password had been changed but I had not done that...so I dont know the changed password

If someone has taken over your email account completely, you are better contacting Talktalk directly, @topper as they could disable the address while you are getting it sorted out.

They should also be able to help you reset the password and then re-enable the address.

Staff may pick up this thread earlier, after 7am, but if you haven't told Talktalk about the issue other than on here, the hacker has now several hours with which to harvest your address book etc.
