Can receive email but not send on Mac mail. Settings all checked!

Hi all

2020 27" iMac. OS 15.7.3

Can't set up Mac mail properly. Have followed online advice, carefully inputting talk talk settings. MacMail will receive emails but will not send. I get a 'Unable to verify account name or password' after inputting the info from TalkTalk. It is an email server from my own website. Webmail works fine.

Any help gratefully accepted!

The only issue I can imagine is that your are using an ancient version of MacOSvand thus the Mail app also.. If it's working on webmail then stick with that.

Thanks for the reply. Imac is running 15.7.3 Sequoia. So not too ancient. Webmail is fine but I have always used macmail previously with all my internet providers without issues. But cannot get talktalk to send emails. Normally something that I could figure out easily but not this time.

OK, not too ancient as you say! Have you have tried deleting the email address from Mail and then reinstating it afresh?
