Hi there I cancelled my direct debit last week! I made my payment with my card on the day my bill was due! I got an email to say I was getting a charge of £12.50 late payment when it wasn’t late it was paid on time! Can you please remove this charge it must be automated because of the direct debit! Again my bill was paid on the day it was due

The payment was made 1 day before the direct debit extraction date, but it was requested prior to the payment, the email about the admin fee is automated , I can confirm that if the charge is applied I will note on the account that the charge is wrong and should be cleared.

The problem happens because the process to pay by direct debit cannot be stopped from 3 working days previous to the due date, @Babybates123.

 

Any one off payment would have to be paid before that.

 

Your bank will be able to confirm this policy. This sort of notice:

How soon before the due date did you cancel the DD?
