Earlier this year TalkTalk ended the fixed price promise, and increased prices all customers where advised via Email 30 days before the increase happened, giving customers the opportunity to either contact us and renegotiate a deal, or leave penalty free as per Ofcom guidelines.
The email would have been sent to the address that you get your monthly notifications, sorry that you missed it.

Check the details in My Account, @Steven Dermody.
Discounts on boosts don't always run in exact conjunction with the Broadband and line rental contract, and there have been increases of £2.00 / £2.50 depending upon your package and rolled out in notification emails since the spring.
Check Talktalk's Ts&Cs, linked at the foot of any TT page, for clause 16, which was in place long before they put this in action. Also note clause 9, ahead of next April's increase.
Also check the end date of the 18 month contract.
