Back in Feb i signed up to Fibre65, and the email says "fixed price for 24 months". today i get a mail saying the price is going up £2.50, which is about a 10% increase? What is going on??

It has been fully researched with all authorities.

Actually I only got notified by email this Thursday (17th) but first read about it through Martin Lewis's website... but that appeared to indicate there were scenarios where the increase did not apply.
While this may be OK with Ofcom it is likely to have breached ASA requirements in being clear on contractual terms that are 'hidden' behind words like 'fixed price'.

The decision was made in March this year , that's when we notified customers.
Sorry

They sprang it on us (for Fast Broadband and Faster Fibre) this March, with notices about being allowed to leave within 30 days of the notification.
I'd only renewed in late January, so was similarly shocked that they should have the nerve.....!
It's all there in clause 16 of the Ts&Cs, @wolfie138, linked at the foot of any TT page.
So Ofcom allows it.
It looks like they are now working their way through those contracts taken out before March, under the Fibre35 and Fibre65 package "promise".

when exactly did you end that? all the stuff on the website and the mails to me state quite plainly the amount is fixed. That's false advertising, which i thought thas was illegal.

Hi wolfie138
Sorry we took the decision to end our fixed price promise earlier this year, as ferguson has mentioned you can either choose to leave with no contract breakage fee, or call our loyalty team on 03451720046 and renegotiate a new deal.
Apologies if this causes any inconvenience.

Sadly, TalkTalk have reneged on their Fixed Price "Promise." They can increase prices at any time under their general T&Cs as long as they give you 30 days' notice and the opportunity to leave without penalty, as they have done here.
