Called TalkTalk before coming to this forum.

Was told when using mobile 0300 was not included in free inclusive minutes and would be charged @ 30 P/min.

Got transfered to another lady to enquire cost using landline (Essentials). Was told cost 28 P/min. This contradicts info that 0300 charged at standard landline rate. Have I been told  load of rubbish?

The information on website should be more explicit. 0300 numbers not mentioned.

Hi royharding

welcome to the community

I've moved your post from another members support thread and created your own topic for you. This is to avoid confusion as the forum staff (OCE) prefer to deal with one customer per thread to ensure you receive dedicated support for your own particular issue.

For the OCE to look into this further please could your update your forum profile, if you haven't done so already, with the required information including your landline telephone number. https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/personal-profile%3Apersonal-info

Numbers beginning 03XX are treated exactly the same a numbers beginning 01/02.

So, for Essentials landline, they will be free evenings and weekends but charged at the standard lindline rate at other times.

For mobiles the are taken out of your inclusive minutes, then at 30p/min when/if you've used these up.

  • "Calls will be charged per second, although a one-minute minimum charge per call will apply. Monthly call allowances do not carry forward from one month to the next. UK landline calls include: 01, 02, & 03 numbers only. Excludes Channel Islands, any non-geographic, premium rate, Directory Enquiry, free phone numbers starting 08 (except 0800 benefit claim numbers) & other non-standard numbers. 0845 & 0870 charged at 35p/min. Calls to UK mobiles applies to 07 & numbers allocated to UK mobile network operators. Excludes Channel Islands, non-standard 07 & any numbers TalkTalk believe are being used for call forwarding services, onward calling services, or pay a revenue share (e.g. 070, 0906, 0907, 0908, 0909, 098). TalkTalk SIM only cards are not compatible for use in Apple's iPads or iPhones. Calls from UK to international destinations are subject to a 90 minute maximum duration per call."

  • "Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.
  • These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone"

Solution

Hi royharding

Just to clarify

from your landline 0300 numbers are classed as a G21 rate (local and national calls) so are free to call from your landline depending on your call plan.

From your mobile, according to the latest pricing guide here , calls to fixed UK landlines  should use your inclusive minutes and then 30p per minute thereafter.

Thanks

Thank you all for your replies.

The only puzzle is why I was given wrong information by not just one but two talktalk representatives.

If I may be permitted the observation, I'd have spoken to whoever was responsible for training the two CSAs involved. :-)
