Blocked website access - Appears to be a router level issue

Hi,

I am unable to access the Admiral insurance login page (https://myaccount.admiral.com/login/)

This appears to be a router level issue (talk talk DSL3782) as the site is not accessible from anywhere on my home network but can be accessed externally.

To date I have tried:

Three different browsers (Chrome, Edge and Avast secure)

Three different laptops (win 10 and win 7)

Android phone (via Admiral app)

Cache clearances

Router resets

Removal of AV (Avast)

Everything turned off on homesafe

Looking at the console tab in the dev tools it reports content security policy violations (See below)

Not sure what to try next, any help would be appreciated

Also notice that my router reports no firmware update for nearly 3 years (firmware version v1.10t dated Dec 14 2018-08:01:02 ) - Not sure if this may be related to the problem. I thought (perhaps incorrectly) that router firmware updates were done automatically.

Thanks in advance

Bill

Just connected the new router and can now access the Admiral site without issue on various devices (Android phone, Win 10 Laptop) and browsers (Chrome, Edge).

I will monitor over the next few days just to ensure that the issue does not return.

Thanks @KeithFrench , @Michelle-TalkTalk , @Debbie-TalkTalk for rapid response to resolve this. Excellent customer service again

Additional info as I see another thread has been started by @Sherbs_Hoo with a similar issue

Router exhibiting  the block to the Admiral login is a D-Link DSL-3782, The replacement that is working is a Huawei DG8041w

Hi - I have exactly the same problem as this. Cannot access the Admiral insurance site https://myaccount.admiral.com/ via my router. D-LINK DSL-3782 'Super router'. The connection times out. Have tried Firefox, Safari and Chrome browsers. Have tried various smartphones, laptops and desktop computers accessing the site via the router, same result. Turned off Homesafe.

Please can you advise how I obtain a log file like the original poster or even if I need a new router as well?

Thanks Debbie, Router has arrived but will need to leave it until the weekend to test due to work commitments. Will update with findings then.

Morning,

I'm sorry to hear this. Would you like us to send a replacement router for testing purposes? We would also send a router returns bag so that one of the routers can be returned.

Thanks

I'll ask TalkTalk to investigate for you. They will hopefully pick this up tomorrow or Tuesday, depending on how busy they are.

I've not found any other sites failing to load, Download speeds are between 20 and 25Mb (5 back to back tests with nothing else using the network). I've run the TalkTalk diagnostic and its reporting 27Mb into the router which is the guaranteed level.

If a network issue, do other sites load OK? What sort of speeds do you get if you do a speed test from this PC? If you log into your router, what internet speeds are quoted in there?

Hi Keith, Thanks for the prompt reply.

Screenshot attached (Chrome on Win 10)

Looking again at the initial warning messages they do mention poor network connectivity so you may be correct that the root cause is a network issue.

Thanks again

Well I can certainly access the site, but I haven't tried a 3782, mine is a different router. Perhaps I can't see it is the router, as the firewall within it allows you to access any https site. Security issues normally point to the webserver or client, but as you have tried different browsers & different devices, I expect that the client is not the problem.

Please can you retry it one more time from one device using ideally Edge or Chrome if a Windows PC & if still inaccessible, can you actually include a screenshot of the error & I will forward this to TalkTalk for their investigation, particularly if it is a network issue?
