Broadband download speed .

Can anyone help me understand my ongoing download speed problem.  I spoke with TalkTalk agent earlier today, I carried out a speed check which showed an average of 37.3 (re-run down to 30.6).  My product (the agent tells me guarantees speed of 35.0).  I asked therefore what the highest and lowest speeds are, the agent tells me they are 40 and 39 respectively.  I am struggling to make any sense of this as clearly the maths does not work.  I am confused as to why he asks me to run the test but then appears to have access to the data and also how 37.3 can be the average of high and low speeds of 40 and 39 respectively.  Any ideas?

think yourself lucky, my awful connection is giving me 3.6 down and 0.2 up atm!

 

it's only dsl tho.

 

i'm flipping to another provider when this contract is up on 29th oct.

Fair comment! I don't understand how they get away with not providing what they are contractually obliged to provide.
