Broadband intermittent sync issue and impossible to get help to sort it

Hi, I've had no broadband for 24 hours - when I try to connect via my phone I get first a "no cable connected" message, then "intermittent sync". The service has been dropping out sporadically for a few minutes at a time over the past 3 weeks, following a 12 hour outage on 8 July. I noticed this morning there is a crackle on the phone line. I've done all the checks instructed. I've been disconnected from live chat multiple times, the phone helpline was supposed to be open at 8 am but wasn't and I've been hanging on nearly 20 minutes for someone to answer. I am getting really angry now as I need this service for work.
