Hi,

I am trying to connect using Cisco VPN to access my applications I need to use for my work however it doesn't work on TalkTalk. Can you please help?

My colleagues who are on BT or Sky have no such problems.

Thank you.

Hi Webdevuser,

Is this the first time you've tried it? If not then has it worked in the past?

Which router do you have?

Chris

Hi Chris,

It used to work on Windows 7, I connected with it around 9 months ago. Since then our machines have been upgraded to Windows 10, not sure if it has anything to do with it.

My router in Huawei HG633.

Thank you.

Hi Chris,

I have tried connecting using my mobile as a hotspot and the VPN is working fine through that. So the issue is definitely to do with my Wifi connection using TalkTalk.

Thank you.

Hi Webdevuser,

Thanks for confirming this. I've checked and the router does have the latest version of firmware. Have you tried factory resetting the router and then retesting this again?

Restore your router to factory settings

Thanks

Thank you Michele.

I have just tried resetting my router, but unfortunately I didn’t make any difference.

Thank you.

Hi Webdevuser,

Thanks for trying this. Are you trying to connect wired or wireless?

Thanks

Thank you Michele.

Wireless. My laptop hasn’t got an ethernet socket.

Hi Webdevuser,

Ok. Have you tried separating the SSID's and then testing this again?

Split your router's SSID (wireless network name)

If this still doesn't work then we can arrange to send a different make and model of router (3782) for you to try.

Thanks

Hi Michelle,

I have tried both frequencies and also a wired connection with a cable.

None of these have worked.

The IT team at work has also confirmed that IPv6 is not the default gateway.

Thank you.

Hi Webdevuser,

Ok, are you happy for us to send a 3782 router for testing purposes?

Thanks

@OCE_Michelle  @Webdevuser  apologies for interfering, but whilst the new router is on the way try changing the DNS from Talktalk to Google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Often works

Hi Webdevuser

The DSL3782 router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Thank you so much @Divsec, I am willing to try anything that might help.

Could you please point me to the right directions on how can I change the DNS settings?

Much appreciated.

Using 3rd Party DNS  should explain it better than I can😀

Hi @Divsec ,

You are a genius, I have changed the DNS settings and it has worked. I tried it last night and again this morning.

Thank you so much, I am ever so grateful for your help.
