Dreadful connection - Cutting out

I have tried turning the router on and off, but the connection is still dreadful. Nothing seems to be wrong according to the service status but this is not true. It has been bad for the past 3 days. Devices have really weak connection despite being close to the router. Cannot use smart TV features as it is painfully slow and keeps cutting out from the wifi. Mobile phones keep switching to mobile data as the connection is so poor. 

What can be done about this?

I'm really sorry to hear this.


I've completed a line test which hasn't detected any faults.


Do you have any wired devices, are they experiencing the same issue?

Hi @SamusAaron,


Do you know if the problem is with the router losing its connection to the internet (in which case a light on your router which is normally constantly lit will change colour or flash), or is it that you are losing Wi-Fi connection between your device(s) and your router (in which case the light(s) on the router will just carry on looking normal).


Do you have any ‘wired’ devices, do they also lose connection ?


The staff here won't be around now until Monday, but they should be able to respond to this post early next week to help.
