Fibre Speed Boost

First Timer
Message 3 of 3

I have just re-signed to TalkTalk and also chosen a Fibre Speed Boost. But this boost appears to do absolutely nothing!. I am, according to TalkTalk getting 39MB with a guarantee of 35MB. I have had a flat graph showing a steady 39MB, despite opting for Fibre Speed Boost several days ago. It makes me wonder why I am paying extra for a boost that doesn't seem to do anything?

Hi CJury

Can you please update your community profile to include your:

  • Name
  • Telephone number
  • Alternative contact number

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread. Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.

Hi @CJury ,

TalkTalk would not normally offer you the speed boost option unless your connection was capable of speeds well above 40mbps, as otherwise (as you have pointed out) it is totally pointless !.

Have you tried switching the router off for over 30 minutes, then when you switch it back on it will start a new 'session', this can sometimes help it reconnect at a better speed.

You could check your address on this site, this will show at the top of the screen the maximum VDSL speeds that BT think your line can achieve, so with the speed boost active you would hope to get something in that approximate range.

If you check in 'My Account' does it show that you have the speed boost active on your account.

For one of the TalkTalk staff on this community to be able to look into this you will need to update your community profile to include your name, landline telephone number that your TalkTalk service is provided on & an alternative contact number. This will allow them to identify you, and they will then be able to help.

Don't post any personal details in this thread, just add them to your community profile.

Then they will hopefully be able to respond to this post within a day or two.
