I am a new TT customer but my broadband contract doesn't start until 20/7. It was ordered on 5/7 and my existing contract with another provider ends today 14/7. Why the delay and what will happen in the meantime? I cannot contact Support Centre as it is not working.
Very poor first impression!

Well, my current provider (EE) did not know what would happen and l assumed l would be without Wi Fi today, but it still seems to work with my old provider. Just waiting for the new TT modem to be sent and TT to go live.

Sorry to state the obvious, you will be without service from today until your TT service is connected by Openreach or their contractors on the 20th.
There is no delay, you would have been given the earliest date available for Openreach to do the required work in your area, two weeks is pretty much the normal timescale.
Why haven't you just asked your current ISP to delay your disconnection date ?
