No Broadband. No Phone.

Hello,

 

Our land line telephone and broadband stopped last Wednesday (6th November), since then we have had no service from either. 

 

The phone has been completely silent - no ring tone, no dial tone, no nothing.  The broadband has been completely zero, although I have found that it creaks along around 6:00AM for less than 10 minutes but then completely stops. I know there have been issues with the Talk Talk service nationally but can someone tell me when they might be fixed. 

 

I have logged into my account every day from work and tried to do a Chat but each time it says "No connections" and times out.  Today I'm tried to login to my account from the local library and I can't even login to my account - says email or password not correct.  No I haven't changed either since I logged into my account yesterday.  What's going on?

I have asked one of TalkTalk's OCEs to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.

The forum is not real-time 24/7 support, so depending on how busy they are & how many are working at any one time, this can take 24 - 48 hrs (excluding weekends & limited cover on Bank Holidays). Alternatively, you can call the call centre or use online chat. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. So the fewer entries you make on your thread now, the sooner they will pick it up.

To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-

Personal Profile > Personal Information

Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.

Hi,

 

Thank you for the reply.  I finally managed to do a Chat session and after a line check failed a BT engineer was booked.  Next day I had a call from a BT engineer to say that a fault had been found at the local exchange and it should now be fixed.  So all good now!

 

The fix was pretty quick so that was great, but I wasn't able to do a Chat session for three days and then couldn't get into my account for a time.  So we were left without internet and (more importantly for us) phone for five days.  Maybe something for you to investigate.
