We swapped to Talktalk from BT in February due to some issues with BT behind the scenes. The BT connection was actually excellent, faultless. The day we swapped to Talktalk we had no internet for 3 days. I contacted talktalk and was told to pay for an engineer (250 quid) which i declined as it was odd that my service was faultless under BT a few days before!
Since February we have had very intermittent broadband/internet. Its on and off consistently and since last Saturday we've had no internet whatsoever.
We noticed from other community users and servicedown sites that Talktalk suffered a big issue 7 days ago. We talked with others who use talktalk in our community and all of them had problems or no internet, some haven't still like us.
I've been on live chat, twitter etc and spent over 4 hours of troubleshooting and i'm getting the same response all the time. It's like talking with robots and pressing automated replies to what you're trying to get across.
I've changed router to a TP-Link to see if that helped, still no internet. I've changed filters, still no internet. I keep being told by the Talktalk help to do the same things, i've told them ive done it but I still have to keep going back to the beginning. Starting over and over again. After 4 hours of problem solving, testing lines, they tell me I have something wrong.
Well $%^& me, seriously?
If i go onto live chat or phone now, i'll get asked to do the same thing over again, 2hrs later no resolve. My wife relies on this internet for her business. We've had no internet for 7 days.
"The problem is home based" i get told. They told me this the day we swapped over. Yet it's funny how BT was working excellent, the next day when we switched to Talktalk we didn't have any service and barely have since.
I want someone to actually listen to what I have to say, not press automated responses to go through all these checks over and over and to be told the same thing over again.
I've had a red light or the light isn't even on for the internet on the router the past 7 days. WiFi says "Connected, no internet!".
I get told by the live chat that my internet isn't working. It's like talking with a kids toy.
Today i wake up, check the router, the internet light is GREEN, wow.... i'll try connecting. Nope, "Connected, no Internet!".
"You're internet shows it is okay" "well it isn't... it's not working.
Please can someone with knowledge help before I cancel this "outstanding" service provider. To be honest, compensation would be nice for an absolute shocking provider since February.
I have asked one of TalkTalk's OCEs to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.
The forum is not real-time 24/7 support, so depending on how busy they are & how many are working at any one time, this can take 24 - 48 hrs (excluding weekends & limited cover on Bank Holidays). Alternatively, you can call the call centre or use online chat. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. So the fewer entries you make on your thread now, the sooner they will pick it up.
To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-
Personal Profile > Personal Information
Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.

Can you please add your home phone number to your Community Profile so I can locate your details.
If unsure of your number, simply dial 17070 from your land line phone and this will confirm the number for you.

hi i dont have internet already 7 days first day reported that engineer will fix in 24-72 hours no one fixes anything, i contacted agent on wednesday and again he told me to fix in 24-72 hours, already 7 days so nothing does not manage, I do not know what to do with your agents anymore and again I see no purpose because they do nothing
I am so sorry you are experiencing this. i have having exactly the same issue - intermittent internet/no internet at all. Talked to TalkTalk via phone and chat but got exactly the same responses as you, spent hours with them for them to tell me something was wrong, as if I didn't know what. But they provided no solution except for me to pay for an engineer to come have a look and I refused. I don't see why I would pay for them to fix a service they don't provide and for which I already pay monthy...... Let me know if you manage to get help, it's driving me crazy talking to them, as you said it's like talking to useless robots!!..
