Problems with WiFi not working

First Timer
Message 3 of 3

I am having problems with my WiFi router, the internet has been dropping for months now with really slow connections and our phones/laptops keep getting disconnected for no reason. It has disconnected us all just now so we have reset the hub and now the internet light isn't showing and not even coming on? We've had endless calls and talks with TalkTalk and they've not really helped at all, they've all said mixed stuff and then that's the end of it. We're going to the point where we can't use the internet because it's that low on speeds and disconnecting everyone.

I work from home so this is making my job impossible. Please can we get some help or something, a new hub? Some advice or help would be great? The router we have is also one of the older ones as well as we've been with TalkTalk for 2 years now.

We are getting to the point where we are not wanting to be with TalkTalk because the internet isn't working at all - it's meant to be fast fibre as well so it's really frustrating.

Hi @ChloDawn,

It would be worth going to the Service Centre to run a connection test on your line, this will indicate if there is currently a fault affecting your service. You can also access this from the ‘My Account’ site.

Also, if you have a landline phone can you check to see if that is working normally (i.e. you have a clear dial tone and no noise on the line).

If your master phone socket has a test socket then you could also try the router in there, that would then eliminate any of the phone wiring in your home as being a possible cause of the problem.

For one of the TalkTalk staff on this community to be able to look into this you will need to update your community profile to include your name, landline telephone number that your TalkTalk service is provided on & an alternative contact number. This will allow them to identify you, and they will then be able to help.

Don't post any personal details in this thread, just add them to your community profile.

Then they will hopefully be able to respond to this post within a day or two.
