My router is constantly going offline, then coming back up! It's a one of the Talk Talk hubs.

See log (just a small example!).

Morning,

I'm sorry to hear this. If all testing has been completed at the test socket with 2 different routers then the next step will be to arrange an engineer visit to the property. Would you like to go ahead with this and we can confirm some details with you?

Thanks

To be fair, I think I have suffered enough with this!!

I am away for the weekend, but bearing in mind the pending price increases.... I'm not prepared to suffer this any longer. I will be initiating transfer to another provider, ie BT, Plusnet etc etc!

Thanks! JW

OK, with the old router on, I get a decent connection for 4 hours, then speeds totally drop to virtually nothing! This has happened twice today, I get a reasonable connection, then another 4 hours later (after a restart), drops again!

This is not right! It's not (imo) the router.

I have put on my old router to test, though it's a D-Link DSL-3782 (I usually use the newer TalkTalk router). Hasn't been in use for a while but should work for testing purposes.

I'll monitor this over a few days!

Hello,

I'm really sorry to hear this. I've re-run the line test now which is clear, however I can see re-connection on the line. If all testing has been completed at the test socket with 2 different routers, cables and microfilters then the next step would be to arrange an engineer visit. Would you like to go ahead with this and we can confirm some details with you?

Thanks

This issue is still happening! It's now getting to be a joke! Don't know how many times BT have been out, supposedly fixed it... then issues occur again!

Surely this is not normal.... and this is just a small part of the log!

Tempted to go with another provider.... but guessing I'm going to have the same issues if it's the line at fault!!

Totally cheesed off with this now!

Hi jwatson

Thanks for your reply.

I have raised this fault over to Openreach to be investigated by a line engineer and we should receive further updates within the next 48-72hrs.

Hi Debbie, yes it is, though there is no extensions or anything, the connector box is literally at the window, so a short run from the pole outside. Thanks.

Hi jwatson

I'm really sorry to hear this.

I've completed a line test which has detected a possible fault.

Is the router currently connected at the test socket?

Thanks

No connections issues reported (always check, but this is going on for ages!)! I live in a small bungalow, no cable issues etc etc!! My landline is fine! I work in I-T.... so do the usual tests!!! JW

Hi @jwatson,

It would be worth going to the Service Centre to run a connection test on your line, this will indicate if there is currently a fault affecting your service. You can also access this from the ‘My Account’ site.

Also, if you have a landline phone can you check to see if that is working normally (i.e. you have a clear dial tone and no noise on the line).

If your master phone socket has a test socket then you could also try the router in there, that would then eliminate any of the phone wiring in your home as being a possible cause of the problem.

The TalkTalk staff on this community will also be able to help, they will hopefully be able to respond to this post tomorrow.
