I've recently moved to an area where there is no access to fibre broadband because the property is not connected to a green box. The property is around 300m from the exchange.
I'm currently getting around 8mbps so I'm guessing that I'm on ADSL.
Is it possible to have this service increased to ADSL2+ given my distance to the exchange?
The Openreach engineer said that the line is good.

and see what Openreach think they can deliver.
@wodger I don't know if you have been confused by the earlier posts, I certainly have. To get an indicative range of speeds at your address check the link below, feel free to post a screenshot of the results:

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread. Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.
I have now updated my profile and await your response.
I don't think I was confused. Here's my output. It seems like I'm towards the bottom of the theoretical range. Unless I'm interpreting this incorrectly.
Looks like you’re right, within the range shown for ADSL2+.
@OCE_Michelle please could you confirm? That report says that ADSL2+ is available, is that the technology I'm currently on?
Thanks for running the diagnostics.
Things are a little better but still not that great.
Is it also possible to have the cap on the upstream altered as I sometimes need to upload large documents for work and this interferes with my workflow.
That was a wireless test.
I can conduct a wired test if necessary. However, I previously had this same equipment (router and laptop) on a fibre connection in York and was getting 140mbps + over wireless. I'm also very close to the router.
How about my upstream query?
The upstream sync speed also looks ok. The maximum upstream sync speed for an ADSL connection is 1mb. Did you manage to run any wired speed tests to see how they compared?
I didn't run a wired test because of the equipment being the same and my previous experience.
Am I limited to basic ADSL here then? No chance of ADSL2+ and some increased speed?
Thanks for looking at this.
So are there any things we can try to get the upstream a little higher?
Service has been very bad today, is there anything you can do from your end? it's impacting my ability to work.
