Why do I keep getting this message 'THE DNS SERVER ISN'T RESPONDING' . Very fed up with service

I continually keep losing my connection.  This time it has lasted approx. 12 hours.  On the router the Red Light for internet just on, no flickering. Tried contacting talktalk when I eventually got back on line, what a waste of time.

Thank you for your reply.   I tried to contact talktalk on their chat today unsuccessfully today but now that I have a phone number I will try that.
