Wifi constantly disconnecting

In the last few weeks my wifi has started to constantly disconnect from all wireless devices e.g. - mobile phone, tablet, laptop. When trying to reconnect either the device cannot see my wifi at all, or it says a network change has been detected or it asks for the password again but when this is entered it wont accept it. The only way to fix this is to restart the router but it then drops out again within half an hour or so. This is now happening so frequently that its almost unusable. My PC and smart TV which are connected via ethernet / mains electricity circuit seem OK
