Wifi regularly slowing down, requiring router restart

Hello!

We have been TalkTalk customers for almost a year - we have the Fiber 65 package with the WiFi hub black, device version DG8041W-2.T5.

For a while, everything was working great, but in the past month or two, we pretty regularly (1-2 times a week) need to restart the router because the download speeds drop to below 10 mbps - usually more like 3-5. After restarting, it goes back up to ~40 mbps, which is the promised speed. However, inevitably it slows down again.

We've reset the router once or twice, and it hasn't solved the problem. Help!!!

Thanks 🙂

Hi cazzah

The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Debbie

Thanks - I think that might be worth a try.

Hi cazzah

I'm sorry for the delay.

Would you like me to send a different router for testing?

Hi Michelle,

I never heard back about my post - wondering whether you had any thoughts on what might be happening? Thanks!

Hi Michelle, thanks for the speedy reply! Yes, some are connected wired - and their speeds also slow down when the Wifi slows down.

Morning,

I'm sorry to hear this. Can I just confirm, do you have any devices connected wired? Do they also experience a drop in throughput speed at the same time?

Thanks
