Blocked attachments on e mail on PC

Why are standard attachments blocked saying 'prohibited file type' when they are safe and legitimate? Happening on multiple occasions but only on PC. They do, however, appear on mobiles and tablets. Help please!! Thanks in advance

It could be a feature of your mail client or firewall which has been enabled to prevent certain file types from being download. Alternatively by default Windows 10 blocks the opening of certain file types, which may contain Malware, that have been downloaded in order to protect your PC.
