Cannot create a mailbox

Hi all, switched to Talk Talk with account going live 24 hours ago.

I am unable to create a mailbox as the wizard jut goes round in a loop.

I have spoken to online support who can only seem to put me back in the same loop.

I have tried on Edge, Chrome & Firefox. VPN on and off. Always the same result.

Any ideas?

The TalkTalk Mail Support Hub is your go to resource for everything related to TalkTalk Mail.

 

Here's the advice article for managing your mailboxes including for creating a talktalk.net mailbox in your customer MyAccount.

 

You can create up to 5 talktalk.net email addresses in My Account

  1. To get started log into My Account
  2. Select My services from the toolbar
  3. Choose Manage TalkTalk Mail 
  4. Now select Create a mailbox
  5. Type in your chosen Email address and password
  6. Select Create to continue

What the advice article doesn't tell you is that if your chosen email address prefix has already been used, you'll get a vague Something went wrong error message.

 

So, just be creatively original with your email address(es).

Thank you for your reply, but this is not the issue.

I know how, the website will not do. It gets stuck in a loop.

Hi, There is nothing to screenshot. When you get to step 6 cteate, it goes back to step 5.

...and if you look up the page is there a red banner notification like this:

This happens if your chosen email address is not available. So just please try again.

 

NB the green ticks for address and password do not confirm the address is available only that the characters are valid. It's only when you select Create that the databases are checked to make sure there's no existing address in either the current or deleted databases.

No, otherwise I would have said. The tick confirm it has met conformity rules. But no error messages, just goes back to step 5 as I have already stated.

...just to clarify:

  • Enter a unique email address preferably without special characters
  • Enter a password meeting the minimum requirements
  • Press Create button

and in your case that doesn't result in either the creation of a mailbox and a green success banner or a red Try again banner.

 

Just in case this is a browser issue try a different browser.

...so you did. Did you use with extensions or add-ons disabled? NB don't use a VPN host outside the UK because MyAccount will not work properly.

 

To link this topic to your TalkTalk service please check your Community Profile includes in Personal Information (Click here):

 

Your name, current TalkTalk landline 'phone and alternate number (mobile preferred). Add full address with postcode (location). Then scroll down to save changes.

 

TalkTalk will pick this up and see if they can replicate.

Thank you for your efforts, but please can you read the contents of the initial post.
To add further info I have even tried on Android via a mobile device.
PS, I am wholly PC literate and can follow instructions. The wizard is not working!
