After entering username and password, which are accepted, I get a blank screen with three little grey dots changing in size for ever. No little blue circle going round the T on the top tab. I can enter Talktalk account - hence this message - and other apps open swiftly - Is it my computer or is it Talktalk?

Have you tried to sign in to TalkTalk Mail after clearing the computer browser cookies and cache?
When the cookie prompt appears try selecting the not accept option.

I have and am still having the same bother getting into talktalk email, the
only way I can access my emails is :- just as I am about to try to login, a page with 2 options open.
option 1 accept all cookies and 2 decline all cookies.
If I choose "option 1" I hardly ever get in, but when I choose"option 2" (which I do anytime I want to see emails) I get into mail no problem.
my problem is being investigated, but does not seem to be a quick one to remedy, it sound strange to me.
this may be different from you case, but maybe worth trying.
