I am in the process of closing my talktalk email down and moving to another provider,. Does anyone know how I can export my contacts?

Hi @zebidee88

TalkTalk Mail Address Book contacts can be exported as a CSV file or vCard.

Contacts MenuContacts Menu

  • Sign in to TalkTalk Mail
  • Select the Address Book from the blue header
  • Select the My address book, default is Contacts
Select the triple line menu icon for that address book
  • Select Export from the menu
  • A pop-up Export folder window will appear

Export folderExport folder

  • Select CSV or vCard format
  • Exclude distribution lists (Group lists) if you wish by unticking Include
  • Select the Export button
  • Save the address book file to your computer
  • Import to your email client

Repeat for other address books including Collected addresses which is the list of contacts you've sent to.

The above assumes you can import contacts in CSV format. If you wish to import to Windows Mail that doesn't directly support CSV file format then let me know as there's a workaround I can offer you.

Thanks Gondola, I had been going round in circles for ages without luck. But your instructions saved my sanity, the first two tries with csv didn't work but a vCard worked first time.
I am moving from TalkTalk mail to Gmail and Hotmail in readiness for contract renewal time. If only the rest of TalkTalk was as good as this forum. If TT are going to impose TV charges on those who do not want it, along with the increasing of number erosions of value, TT will be losing one of their Founder customers.

Hi zebidee88

You're very welcome.

TalkTalk is certainly going through a strange phase. I've experienced being treated unfairly so I appreciate exactly what you're saying.

But I'm still here soldiering on and helping other members as best as I'm able.

Enjoy your weekend.
