An elderly friend of mine (in his 80s) who has an old OneTel email address has just bought a new computer and is desperate to set his email system up again on his new computer.

 

Unfortunately, his internet is no longer supplied by OneTel as he moved over to Utility Warehouse, and I'm unable to find anything about helping him to reset his password for his OneTel email account.

 

Can anyone suggest anything, as I don't know where to turn.

email service is from anybody to anybody , regardless of the internet server, so you dont have to change password on email, to set up a new computer or new internet server

 

however having said that, i would say, that most new computers require a new email id and password, but you could also use an old email id and the old password, slight risk of having scammers finding you on the new pc. 

 

example i had a friend who said their id was nobody, password 123 - guess what ? so easy to hack that account, back 10 years ago

 

unfortunately you cant get through life with one user id and password -

No worries, your friend can join Community as a new member and request a onetel email password change here in the email forum. 

 

We'll guide your friend and and request the TalkTalk Community Team to verify and authorise a password change.

 

TalkTalk will first need to verify he is the registered mail user so because there's some personal data questions and responses this is why he needs to register with Community

Hi glynbaxter, as I've said I've raised the fault ticket for you. This means the email admins will reset the password for you when they reach your ticket in the queue. I'm afraid there's no way to speed this up for you.
