Subject: Your mailbox will be deleted soon because mailbox is not attached to a broadband contract

My wife has a webmail account and has just received an email saying that the account will be deleted because "mailbox is not attached to a broadband contract". Now the reason this mailbox is not connected to a broadband account is because my mailbox is the primary and is connected to the account.

My two daughters also have separate webmail mailboxes so I assume that at some point their's will also get closed down.

Is it possible to associated multiple webmail mailboxes with a single broadband account? If not then it looks like we will have to move to Gmail.

You can have up to 5 mailboxes linked to a broadband account. I am sure Gondola will be along in few minutes to give you the relevant links to explain how to do it.

Hi Jim

 

Yes you can add up to 5 TalkTalk managed mailboxes to your MyAccount.

 

The TalkTalk Mail Support Hub is your go-to resource for TalkTalk Mail and Managing Email is what you need.

Just Add an existing mailbox and enter the first part of the email address, select the domain part from the drop-down selection and enter the password.

 

If the system is able to add the mailbox it'll be done and you'll see a green banner confirmation at the top of page and the mailbox will be added to the list of My Mailboxes.  Do that for all the mailboxes but you'll need spare slots as MyAccount only has 5 mailboxes per account.

 

If you get a red banner error message just post back to let me know.

Hi Gondola, thanks for the help.

 

I have managed to add the mailboxes of my wife and one of my daughters, however it reports an error when I try to add my other daughters mailbox.

Currently there are three mailboxes attached to my account so that should mean that there are two spare.

 

Any ideas

Great so far.

 

The mailbox that has an error message is either inactive or if it still in current use is associated with a former MyAccount and just needs TalkTalk to get that released from the former MyAccount and added to your current MyAccount. 

 

Please do a quick check that your Community Profile includes in Personal Information (Click here) your name, current TalkTalk landline 'phone number and an alternate number (mobile recommended) and address with postcode (location). Then scroll down to Private notes to add the missing email address and finally save changes.

 

I'll alert TalkTalk's Community Team to get this done for you.

I replied to your PM a couple of weeks ago but I noticed today that my daughters mailbox is still not listed under my broadband account.

Is there anything more I need to do?

Just to say that I've alerted the TalkTalk team on the matter of the mailbox not being added to your current MyAccount.

 

I've asked that the team liaise with OCE_Ady to authorise the mailbox move from a former MyAccount to your current MyAccount.
