Any idea why emails from a specific company are being bounced from my Tiscali mailbox?

Moonpig have said the problem is at my end and quoted this:

"5.1.1 (bad destination mailbox address) smtp;550 5.1.1 aeG6ibLn1ekoT Recipient Undeliverable (TT512)"

Hope you can help

Hi Freddie_8

Has the sender got your email address entered correctly?  They're using the Google mail servers so I don't expect to see anything amiss there and cannot see an obvious reason for the complete failure to deliver.

Are you a TalkTalk Consumer customer and is your email address added to your customer MyAccount?  Need to make sure the mailbox is active, is not full and is not blocking the google mail servers.

Prepare for TalkTalk Mail Support by including in your Community Profile, Personal Information (here):

  • Your name, current home 'phone number. An alternative (mobile preferred) contact number. Full address with postcode (Location)
  • Scroll down to Private notes to add your email address and the sender's email address, notes and references etc
  • After checking and updating, Save changes

Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail

Enter your email address and password, select Sign in.

Check  Spam and  Trash folders for mail messages that may have been diverted from the Inbox. Bear in mind these folders normally contain mail not older than 30 days.

Compose and send the same mailbox, i.e. the one you're signed in to, a mail message. Check that the self send message sends without error, is copied into the Sent objects folder and arrives and stays in the Inbox. Mail not reaching the Inbox could mean there's a Filter rule that's diverting, discarding or blocking mail.

  • Select the Main Settings menu icon      triple lines, top right header bar
(Mobile browser? you'll need to select the desktop version)
  • Select the Settings menu item
  • Select the inward facing arrowhead by Mail or Email in the left side bar
  • Select Filter Rules
  • Select the Delete (dustbin icon) to the right of any entry that you don't expect to be there
    Confirm the deletion

Let us know of any error message, or if mail did not arrive in the Inbox or disappeared from the Inbox or if you found Filter rules.  Ideally you should see a message that there is no rule defined.
