I use Windows 10 Mail and can receive emails but when I try and send an email it gets stuch in the Outbox. I don't get any error messages.

My account settings are:

i/c mail pop.tiscali.co.uk

o/g mail smpt.tiscali.co. uk

I cannot find out what port numbers are used.

I can sent and receive emails if I use webmail.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Eddie0204

Follow the steps here to edit a TalkTalk email account in Windows 10 Mail

Launch Windows Mail (normally there's an envelope icon in the taskbar)
Select the settings cog icon bottom left
From the Settings panel, on the right, select Manage accounts
Select the tiscali account to edit settings
Select Change mailbox sync settings
Scroll down and select Advanced mailbox settings
Scroll down to see the screenshot I supplied earlier
Update the incoming and outgoing email server boxes exactly as I showed
Tick - Outgoing server requires authentication
Tick - Use the same username and password for sending emails
Tick - Require SSL for incoming emails
Tick - Require SSL for outgoing emails
Select Done

Let us know how you get on and if you get stuck take a screenshot of the incoming and outgoing email server settings and upload here using the camera icon above this Reply area.

Hi Gondola, Very many thanks for your reply. Actually my neighbour is helping me with this problem as I'm no techie. He may be free tomorrow afternoon if I still can't sort this issue out.

Meanwhile, can you tell me how to make the updates please? My PC is using Windows 10 and when I go into Mail settings I can't find where to make the changes.

Thanks again.

Hi Eddie0204

I see you went offline before responding.

Have you fixed the Windows Mail setup with the settings I offered?

We do appreciate your time in letting us know. Thank you.

Hi Eddie0204

I can see the problem. The outgoing server host name is not entered correctly and you're using the legacy tiscali server names that require updating to the talktalk.net host name.

The Windows 10 Mail incoming and outgoing server settings screen should appear as here:
