I had not received any emails for 9 days which was really odd as I usually get 10 to 20 everyday, Just checked on the talk talk mail server as I usually just use live mail and my mail was being auto forwarded to another email address which was not mine. I've tried changing my password as someone obviously had gotten access to my account but as I'm not a talk talk customer and my email address pre dates the security checks I can't change it. Is there anything I can do to stop this hacker from accessing my account?

Thanks I've raised the fault ticket for you. You'll get a call after 3pm as requested with your new password. Please let us know how you get on.

Hi chris_armstrong, I need you to add the affected email address to the private notes of your community profile.

Aww you're a star mate, I've added all the information you've requested including my old address and old number, I've already removed the forwarding email and will keep a check to make sure it is not re entered. Thanks for your help 😄

For the moment just remove the unauthorised email forwarding by logging in to webmail and keep an eye on that to make sure it's not re-instated.
I think you're saying that you haven't set up password recovery to set a new password to secure the email account.
So, to secure the account with a new ultra-strong password, you'll first need to prove you're the legal owner of the email. Double check that you've added to your Community Profile, Personal Information (Click here) all of the following in the Private Notes area at the bottom of the page:
Email address affected.
Your Full Name.
Date of Birth.
Phone number linked to the Tiscali email address when first registered.
Full postal address linked to the Tiscali email address when first registered.
Include your mobile contact number and times to call - daytimes when you'll be there in person to receive the password and speak to the email team (for your security they won't leave a message with the password and there's no number to call them). Don't forget to save changes.
The personal information is used to verify the details recorded for the owner of the email address.
This topic has been escalated to the TalkTalk Community support team and the email expert will respond to you, right here from Monday onwards, to help you with securing the account and setting a new ultra-strong password.
