Help needed with new Samsung Tablet and emails

Hi I am really desperate for any help anyone can give to me. I am not pc savvy - am an oap. I have just bought a Samsung A7 tablet and I cannot get it to accept talktalk emails. Is there an app I can download to get my talktalk emails. I have gone through the process of adding an account to the gmail they enforce on me but it will not go through to give me the talktalk emails. Can anyone give me easy to understand instructions please. Thanks

Please log in to My Account if you need to view or pay your bill, manage boosts and track your usage. From My Account you can also check your connection and test your line for any issues in the Service Centre.

Make sure the tablet is connected to your router wi-fi

  • Select the Chrome browser icon

  • Enter your email address
    Tap Continue
  • Enter your email password
    Tap Sign in and your emails should load



The gMail app usually sets up fairly easily although the manual settings do need checking. The app verifies the incoming and outgoing server settings so you know if the setup for both receiving and sending mail is good.


When starting to Add the email account to the gMail app:

  • You select Other and Enter your email address and NEXT
  • Select Personal (IMAP) account and NEXT
  • Enter the password

Then these are the Incoming and Outgoing server settings for the email account. You'll probably need to edit the mail server names to make sure the incoming server is prefixed by mail. and the outgoing server is prefixed by smtp.

To check and if necessary amend an existing gMail setup:

  • Select the gMail app icon
  • Select the triple line menu icon
  • Scroll down to Settings
  • Select the email account name
  • Scroll down to Server settings
  • Select Incoming settings
    Check the Incoming settings / Sync options are as in the above table
    Select DONE
  • Select Outgoing settings
    Check the Outgoing settings / Sync options are as in the above table
    Select DONE

The gMail app will verify the settings each time you select DONE. If there's an error, the app will tell you.
