Hi Nigel
To maintain your personal security then deletion of the redundant homecall email account is a good decision.
Here's the TalkTalk advice article related to the GDPR. Scroll down and select the section Your right to be forgotten also known as Right to Erasure for instructions for requesting that your homecall email account and any contents are authorised for deletion by the Data Protection team.
They'll need proof that you're the registered user of the email including:
The process isn't straightforward because legacy homecall email users may not have given consent for the processing of personal data as needed by the introduction of The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) in force from 25 May 2018. The limited data held for legacy email users requires that account deletion requests must now be managed by the Data Protection team as verification by them is required before email account deletion is authorised.
Do please update us on the outcome as it's good to get feedback.
