The password on my family's Lineone account has recently stopped workin, despite it not having been changed.
I thought that maybe Lineone was no longer supported but other messages make me think that TalkTalk has just changed the password, which was pretty weak.
I've put the relevant details in the private info section of my profile. I'd be grateful if someone could have a look and get it reset.
We no longer have a TalkTalk account and have not set up an 'alternative email address' within that Lineone account (but would do so going forward!).
Grateful for any help.

I'm not entirely who you've spoken to. If you called the 0114 landline number, that number is not with my family anymore. I added my mother's current landline to the 'private info' section.
I've just spoken to her and she says nobody from TalkTalk has called.
I'll be with my mother in a couple of weeks, so it's maybe easier if I ask for the ticket to be raised again at that point.

Hi AB111, the account holder has denied raising this for reset. I'm afraid the ticket has been closed with no further action.

Hi AB111, I've raised the fault ticket for you. I've only added your Mother's details to the ticket. That means if she wants you to deal with it she'll have to tell Ranadheer when he calls. Please let us know how you get on.

Yes, if the password was weak then the system probably has changed the password or locked the account to help secure customer data.
Noted that you haven't set up password recovery and apologies for asking but do double check that you've added to your Community Profile, Personal Information (Click here) all of the following in the Private Notes area at the bottom of the page:
This topic has been escalated to the TalkTalk Community support team to verify the details recorded for the owner of the email address. The email expert will reply here to help with account or password recovery from Monday onwards.
Going forwards, the new TalkTalk mail platform will require everyone migrated to that to set up password recovery as it will then be the only way to change passwords.
