No Tiscali emails since TalkTalk "upgraded" the web mail

my works email address is not worked since friday too...

 

Im not even able to get into or set up another talktalk account to help fix this problem - obscured for customer securitytiscali.co.uk

very frustrating 

any help would be apreciated or is it a case of just sit & wait until whatever talktalk have done to the system to settle down?

 

only by luck i found this conversation, this did happen to me a couple of years go and luckily when we re-entered the password it worked again but it took a while...

Hi robcricket

 

Not being able to log in to your webmail account may be because the email system has detected a weak password or a compromised email account and changed the password or locked the account to help secure customer data.

 

 I assume you've tried putting the current password in to Outlook if the password request box comes up?

 

Have you previously set up password recovery for the email address with an alternate email and mobile number? You could try the Reset your Password option. Other than the reset to the account itself, if there are alternates listed, see if you recognise them from the hints. Or if you're a TalkTalk broadband customer or recent customer you can change your email password in MyAccount > My Services > Webmail - Manage Webmail, if the email is listed in one of the 5 email address slots.

 

If not, you'll need to prove you're the registered user of the email. Double check that you've added to your Community Profile, Personal Information (Click here) your name, current address and contact 'phone numbers and then scroll down and add all of the following in the Private Notes area at the bottom of the page:

  • Email address affected
  • Your Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Landline 'phone number and Full postal address linked to the tiscali email address when first registered
  • For password reset requests, include your mobile contact number and times to call - daytimes when available in person to receive the password and speak to the email team
    (for security they won't leave a message with the password and they don't accept call backs)
  • Save changes

TalkTalk's Community Team will verify the user details recorded for the email address and will confirm the next actions here.

Hi,

 

Ive been using it on Outlook 2007 on my desktop for the last 10-12years and only had one issue a couple of years ago asking for password to be checked.

 

This time ive gone through every setting and its still not working as I’m sure i have the right password .

 

Not being able to log into webmail is not enabling me to even change to a new password, very frustrating 

 

Wish i was more IT savvie

Hi @robcricket

 

Does your email work sending and receiving when you log into WebMail?

 

If you're using an email client have you checked the settings as per this TalkTalk article?

 

Which email client or email app do you normally use?  Is there any error message when you send an email or when you send to the email address from another email service?
