Hi, I need to recover or reset the password for one of the email accounts attached to my TalkTalk account. I tried using the "Password Request" page but it doesn't seem to be sending an email to the email account I entered (the one I've got the password problem with).
That email account is accessed via Windows Mail/Live on an old desktop which is failing. We obviously entered the password in order to access the account several years ago but can't see what the password is (just shows as the typical dots). We now want to acccess the email account from another machine so need to know what the password is.
Note this is NOT the credentials for "MyAccount" which are fine. It's just the password for one of the (5) email accounts linked to the TalkTalk account. I tried using the online chat but they weren't able to help.

Please do sign in to webmail and make sure you have password recovery reset details set up for all your accounts.
Select here: Sign in to TalkTalk Mail
Enter your email address and your email password, select Sign in. NB you'll need to sign out top right to sign in to each mailbox individually.
Update your reset details is an option on the main settings menu (triple line icon on the top right header or cog icon on a mobile browser).
Check, update and Save the Reset details if needed, then you'll be able to use the Reset your password now button in the help page Changing your email password if you forget any password of the email accounts.

Hi Gondola - thanks so much for your help - all sorted out now following the link you provided. Fortunately we could still access the email account on the old desktop so were able to pick up the reset email without any additional security issues. Thanks so much again - good end to what was a bad morning trying to get it sorted.

The Reset your password now button in the help article Changing your email password will take you to password reset and recovery.
If you have set up password recovery options, in advance, that you recognise from the *****hints, then you can send your alternate email address a link or your mobile a 6-digit code to authorise a password reset.
But if you don't recognise the recovery email address then we'll need to ask TalkTalk Support to set up new password recovery reset details for you.
A TalkTalk Support member will need to verify you as the registered email user and set up your password recovery alternate email address and mobile number (the Reset details) so you can send a password reset link or code to authenticate a password change.
Prepare for TalkTalk Support - include in the Community Profile (not in these public posts):
Account holder name, TalkTalk home 'phone number
Alternative mobile contact number. Full address with postcode (in the Location box)
Scroll down to Private notes to add the email address needing recovery
Check and Save changes
Select here: Update your profile
A TalkTalk Support member will reply to this thread and then Community Personal Message you to confirm your customer account details and or details related to the original registration of the email address.
When verified the Reset details will be set up during a working week within 24 hours allowing you to set your own password via the Forgotten your password journey. Make sure the password is ultra-strong and unique to the mailbox. Check via the TalkTalk Mail sign in that you can access the mailbox.
