TalkTalk misbehaving

All right, TalkTalk webmail has gone berserk.

I have 4 TalkTalk email addresses. The 4 appear in TalkTalk Email Manager, at https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/#/login

However, going to https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/#/login in Google browser,

takes me to https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/#/subscribe

This is a newly-added section in TalkTalk Email Manager, added to the existing sections, 'Home' and 'Mailbox Manager'

It is in the 'Mailbox Manager' section that my usual 4 TalkTalk email addresses were and are still displayed.

There was no reason at all, to have the additional 'Subscribe to Everymail' section.

Going to the usual Log into TalkTalk webmail web address, https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/appsuite/,

and logging in with any of my 4 TalkTalk email addresses,

I get the following notice overlaid on top of that webmail window (note, it is not an email):

Billx_0-1778805633238.png

The only way to get rid of this notice is to click 'Remind me later', which I did.

After getting rid of that notice, there is the additional notice at the top of the webmail window, with the red background. It says: "Don't wait - Subscribe to Everymail by 26 May 2026 or you will lose the ability to send mails - |Subscribe button|" :

Also, logging into the TalkTalk email address, being the admin TalkTalk email address

I have received 2 emails from TalkTalk as follows:

Important information about your TalkTalk Mail

Hello,

We’re writing to let you know about a change to your TalkTalk email service.

While you’re no longer a TalkTalk broadband customer, we’ve continued to provide your email service free of charge for some time. However, with this change, we’re no longer able to offer it at no cost.

We know how important your email service is, so we want to help you understand your options if you’d like to keep using it.

What you need to know and do

  • If you no longer require this email service, you don’t need to do anything. We will close your account from 7 July 2026 and it will no longer be possible to access it and send or receive emails. Emails received after the account is closed will be automatically returned to sender. Your emails and data will be permanently deleted
  • If you would like to keep using this email service, you’ll need to sign up to a third-party email service called Everymail. Everymail is provided by our partner Open-Xchange, who manage your existing TalkTalk email service
  • We’ll be in touch in the coming weeks to share the sign-up link for your 30-day free trial with Everymail

Everymail includes the same user experience and features you have today, plus:

  • You will get to keep your existing TalkTalk email address and all of your messages, folders, contacts, and calendar appointments
  • You can enjoy a totally ad-free email experience
  • Your storage will increase from 10 GB to 15 GB per mailbox

When you sign up, you’ll enjoy a 30-day free trial, and you can choose from two plans:

  • £5 per month, which includes five mailboxes
  • £50 a year, which includes five mailboxes

If you don’t sign up to Everymail before 15 June 2026, you should ensure you have downloaded any important messages from your TalkTalk inbox before it is closed. You can find step-by-step instructions on how to do this by clicking here

You should also check any existing online accounts, as they may be set up using your TalkTalk email address. This means you may miss important communications once you can no longer access this inbox. Messages sent to this inbox after it is closed will be automatically returned to sender.

We’ll be in touch again soon with the Everymail sign up link, as well as a reminder of the upcoming changes. Thank you for your understanding.

Important information about your TalkTalk Mail

Hello,

We’ve written to you previously to let you know about a change to your TalkTalk email.

  • If you’ve recently rejoined us and taken our broadband service - welcome back to TalkTalk - then please get in touch so we can reconnect your TalkTalk Mail account for you. Once that’s done, we’ll also make sure you’re removed from these notifications.
Equally, if you’re a longstanding customer and think you’ve received this email in error, apologies – please get in touch and we can look into it for you.
  • If you no longer require this email service, you don’t need to do anything. We will close your account from 7 July 2026 and it will no longer be possible to access it and send or receive emails. Emails received after the account is closed will be automatically returned to sender as undeliverable. Your emails and data, including your email address, will be permanently deleted and not possible to recover.
  • If you would like to keep using this email service and/or retain access to this email address, you’ll need to sign up to a third-party email service called Everymail. Everymail is provided by our partner Open-Xchange, who manage your existing TalkTalk email service

Sign Up to Everymail through your account here

Everymail includes the same user experience and features you have today, plus:

  • You will get to keep your existing TalkTalk email address and all of your messages, folders, contacts, and calendar appointments
  • You can enjoy a totally ad-free email experience
  • Your storage will increase from 10 GB to 15 GB per mailbox

When you sign up, you’ll enjoy a 30-day free trial, and you can choose from two plans:

  • £5 per month, which includes five mailboxes
  • £50 a year, which includes five mailboxes

What happens next

If you don’t sign up to Everymail by 16 June 2026, you will no longer be able to access your TalkTalk email address or inbox, in line with our terms and conditions. This is permanent and it will not be possible to recover this account once it is closed.

Prior to this date, you should ensure you have downloaded any important messages from your TalkTalk inbox before it is closed. You can find step-by-step instructions on how to do this by clicking here

You should also check any existing online accounts, as they may be set up using your TalkTalk email address as well as letting any contacts, like friends and family, know you’ll no longer be contactable on your TalkTalk email address. This means you may miss important communications once you can no longer access this inbox. Messages sent to this inbox after it is closed will be automatically returned to sender as undeliverable.

To keep your current mailbox and emails, you need to be aware of the following important dates

26 May 2026: If you haven’t signed up by this date, you will lose the ability to send emails. You’ll still, however, be able to log in, receive and read your emails.

16 June 2026: If you haven’t signed up by this date, you will no longer be able to log in to your TalkTalk email account.

7 July 2026: If you still haven’t signed up by this date, your email account will be closed, and all data, including your email address, emails, contacts and calendar appointments, will be permanently deleted.

Thank you for your understanding.

It looks like both emails originated in the US.

The first took 2 hours to arrive, and the second took 3 1/2 hours.

The 2 emails are almost the same, but not the same.

So, there are 4 errors initiated by TalkTalk.

I guess I’ll have to do some talking,

Oh, I nearly forgot. Apart from the 2 emails, detailed in my 1st post, I have not received any other such emails.

Good to know that all seems sorted, @Billx.

Thanks for the update.

Gliwmaeden2, a fellow customer.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Even though the full 48 workday hours have not elapsed, I just ckecked all my 4 TalkTalk email addresses.

The remaining 2 ill-functioning TalkTalk email addresses, have now been fixed.

Logging into ANY of the 4 email addresses, does NOT bring up the big white notice, urging the customer to subscribe to Everymail. Within ANY of the 4 email addresses, there is NO thin red horizontal banner at the top of the email window, also urging the customer to subscribe to Everymail.

Logging into the TalkTalk Email Addresses Manager, at https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/?#/mailbox-manager ,

shows me my 4 TalkTalk email addresses, with NO references to Everymail.

The separate section, "Subscribe to Everymail" has not returned.

Everything seems now, to be hunkey-dory.

I just made the 3rd call to 0345 1720088.

The agent confirmed that the "form" has been sent 2 times, on Friday, and on Tuesday

She thought that maybe the 48 hours might not have expired yet,

I insisted that it had. First one ignores weekend days and Public holiday Mondays. Then it's 2 days away from the time of the original call.

Anyway, she agreed that we re-send the "form" for the remaining 2 ill-functioning email addresses.

I looks like sending/resending the form is the only thing that can be done, at 0345 1720088 / 0345 1720074

48 working-day hours later, i.e. after Thursday 12:00.

The situation now is, as was on Tuesday 12:00. TalkTalk has done nothing since Tuesday 12:00

And it's getting awfully close to the limit of 26th May 2026, when TalkTalk has warned me, that sending of any emails will be stopped.

There is no problem with 2 of my TalkTalk email addresses

For the other 2 TalkTalk email addresses, when logging into the email address, continues to show the big white notice, urging the customer to subscribe to Everymail

After clicking the "Remind me later" button, and being logged in to the email address, the thin red horizontal banner at the top of the email window, again urging the customer to subscribe to Everymail, continues to also be displayed.

I note that on both the pop-up white notice and the thin red notice at the top of the email window,  there is a "Subscribe" button.

Clicking on either of the 2 "Subscribe" buttons, leads me to log into the TalkTalk Email Addresses manager (Not the Everymail Manager). So no harm, at all, done.

I guess some more talk from me  is warranted at 0345 1720088.

48 working hours later, i.e. after Tuesday 12:00.

I checked the 4 TalkTalk email addresses.

2 of the 4 email addresses appear to be fully fixed, i.e no notices to subscribe to Everymail.

(Also, the additional 'Subscribe to Everymail' section, within Mailbox Manager, has been correctly removed.)

The other 2 email addresses, which I use more, are not fully fixed .

Those 2, when logging into the email address, continue to show the big white notice, urging the customer to subscribe to Everymail

After clicking the "Remind me later" button, and being logged in to the email address, the thin red horizontal banner at the top of the email window, again urging the customer to subscribe to Everymail, continues to be displayed.

Anyway, I have done some more talk at 0345 1720088, and I am assured that everything will be OK after another 48 working hours.

Thank you, peers.

I called TalkTalk, and did some talking. Initially rang 0345 1720074, but the system took me to 03451720088, the usual number. So, 0345 1720074, is equivalent to 03451720088, an alias.

I gave my 4 TalkTalk email addresses to the agent, to be re-associated with my TalkTalk Full Fibre broadband account.

I was assured that it will be done in 48 working hours, i.e. Tuesday 12:00

This also proves that even if one's email addresses are all listed in the so-called Mailbox Manager, they are not necessarily associated with the customer's broadband account, I think.

You do need to act to retain your emails.
