Talktalk webmail not loading in Chrome

Hello,

I periodically have a problem in my Talktalk webmail account where emails do not load properly in Chrome. Instead, I see a message which says "Aw, Snap! Something went wrong while displaying this web page. Error code: out of memory".

I have tried all the fixes suggested on the internet, such as clearing the cache and the cookies, and updating Chrome, but the issue is still there. How could I fix this?

Grateful for any help!

It looks like the ad agency have indeed cleared out the malfunctioning ads.

Hi strahbanas

Just to let you know that the cause of the 'out of memory' fault has been identified and does appear to have been fixed by the Advertising Management team. If using Edge or Chrome and not using an ad-blocker, let us know if you feel it's fixed or if you still get an 'out of memory' crash event.

The fault has been passed over to the team who provide our email platform to investigate further.

Hi strahbanas, the incident is still open and I've sent a chaser this morning asking for updates.

Hi strahbanas

TalkTalk have this logged as an incident affecting Edge and Chrome browsers when advertising is running on the TalkTalk Mail page.

Use Firefox browser as that seems to be immune. Or add an ad-blocker extension to the browser. I personally use Ghostery. Other ad-blockers are available from the Chrome Web Store.

Or you could use an email client like Windows Mail or Thunderbird or a mobile email app.

Let us know if you need further advice / guidance.
